Is the 2018 Dodge Charger r/t so much better then the mustang ecoboost? I could get a 2020 ecoboost for almost 10k less then a 2018 Dodge Charger r/t with less the 40k miles for both but that wouldn’t be worth it right? I don’t need the space but it’s good to have and I see it’s 60 more hp.

This is how and why I bought a Mustang in Germany, and daily drive it since although I got a perfectly fine TDI Wagon in the garage.
Hey all! Hope this is interesting to some people. Gonna be kind of a long one. Thanks in Advance for reading! TL;DR People say Money can't buy happiness. For car guys, that's bullshit. The Mustang overtook the 911 in sales recently, becoming the most popular sports coupe in Germany. I owned a 2019 Focus ST before, had it in the shop for service, and the dealer hat a Bullitt for display at that time. My dealer gave me that one for the weekend. It was almost factory new, only 200km on it. When I returned it two and a half days later, it was >1.000km, and I was the happiest man I had been in months, since I got my baby cat. I always wanted to own a sports car, and coming from a low middle class background, it always seemed to be unrealistic to ever make that dream come true. Americans, consider, Mustangs are not very popular in Germany. They are rare, exotic, sports cars. Ford's flagship. There are no low end specs. The EcoBoost started at 40.000€, V8s are >50.000€. Shelbys are only available through import and I have only seen one or two 350s in my life. This price though is an amazing deal. If you go see your local Mercedes, BMW or Audi dealer and ask for a performance car around 400-500hp with a V8 they'll ask you some six digits. Sure, quality is way higher. I see that every day. But is that worth double the money, when you're aiming for driving experience and fun mainly? So anyway, I returned the Bullitt on a Monday, got my ST back. On Tuesday I took the morning off and went back to the dealer, told him "let's do some calculations". The same Friday, November 24, 2020, I placed my Order for a green Bullitt. Regular seats because the Recaros are not heated, and with the Magneride. This felt unreal. I was shaking on the way home. I floored the ST, went 270km/h (165mph) on the empty Autobahn. It didn't feel the same. Like i was on half the engine. It was the right decision. The financials were tight, but wouldn't ruin me. For the next months I'd be an excited child on the day before christmas eve. I watched videos, reviews, listened to the sound of the car during work, day by day it got more intense. I could not take it anymore. Until one day in early March 2021 the dealer called. My car left the ship, it's on the road. They'd need some time for registration and checks, in two weeks I could get it. They just had to replace a door that was damaged during transport, which I didn't care much about. I took hours to choose a license plate. I couldn't work, no chance I'd be able to focus. Friday, March 26. A call. Come get your car next Wednesday. I called my boss, took the whole week off. I wouldn't get out of that car until Sunday anyway. And from here on, the fairytail is basically over. I picked it up, signed, sent the money. Went for the first wash - because for some reason, Ford doesn't wash new cars before the handover?! Oh shit. A scratch. Another one. Oh no. The whole car was fucked up from the long transport. It was so dusty when i got it, I didn't see any of them in the shop. I drove straight back to the shop, pissed as fuck, asking them what the fuck kind of treatment that was for somebody who bought the most expensive car in the portfolio. Guess what? They agreed to fix the paint for free, and I had to take one of their Fiesta rentals until then. 70hp 1.0 3cylinder. I was so mad... Anyway, another two weeks later I got it back. As soon as I start the engine I forgot everything and got a smile wide across my face. It's loud, it vibrates, it accelerates. People stare at me. Neighbors ask funny questions, if I won a lottery or a rich uncle died. It turns me, usually a rather cold, calculating personality, emotional. This is exactly what I always wanted. It's like getting together with the girl you've dreamed of all your teenage years. And, surprisingly, for somebody with no children and a single household, a surprisingly convenient car. The trunk fits the groceries, the gas efficiency isn't as bad as an AMG or a Porsche. I am back to doing joy rides, I find an excuse to drive every day. I even took it on business trips, although I got a business car which my employer pays, and I may use freely for private purpose. When it comes to parking it's a pain. I moved to a new place, with underground garage. The ramp is so tight, after getting in for the first time I didn't drive it for a week, being to scared of damaging it on the way out. Lots in europe are not built for american cars. The doors are so long, I need to occupy two spots, or get really close to the car to my right. But that's fine. The whole lot looks at me. What a guy. People take pictures of the car. I feel amazing. In terms of financials, well the purchase was significant, but calculated and worth it. Upkeep though, damn. Gas prices increased by >60% since covid struck. I pay >2€ per liter. That's 100-120€ a fill. Two weeks worth of groceries for gf and me, which I can blast in 2-3h of driving. Taxes are 700€ / year and the insurance started at 2.400€ / year, for me, who previous to the ST didn't own a car in a while, so no significant discounts. The car, including the leasing, takes a quarter of my salery (after taxes and social insurance), more than rent. Would I do it again? Definitely! The car provides joy to my life. A smile everytime I need to leave the house. A reason to get up and not feel bad because I have to go to work - no - it's an oportunity to drive. Is it affordable? Well, I got a good job. My salery is well above average. I can't buy as many other luxury goods as I would sometimes like to. It's certainly not a thing anybody can do. Hell, my monthly expenses exceed my mothers' salery. But she's happy that I can live my dream, and so am I.
I Drove Across the USA Without Using Paved Roads!! (AMA)
I Drove Across the USA Without Using Paved Roads!! (AMA) == Ask Me Anything (AMA) == Seriously, I drove 10,400 mile in the last 30-days. It took me 28 days to go across the USA without using paved roads. I started on the Pacific Ocean (Port Orford, Oregon) and drove solo offroad all the way to the Atlantic Ocean (Emerald Isle, North Carolina). As you can imagine I have countless stories. Some of my highlights were seeing the wild mustangs in Utah. Discovering the absolute terror an evil spirit can deliver in the Smoky Mountains. I was not a believer in ghost pior. I drove a 2020 Ford Raptor with E-Rated BFG KO2 tires. No damage to tires or truck until one of the last days when I backed into a tree. Currently I don't have a 'real job' and have a 60-day window to create a profitable YouTube channel. Would you help me by subscribing to my YouTube channel today? First full YouTube episode will publish on Thanksgiving Day (November 24th). For your enjoyment, I just published a sample video of the trip. Search YouTube for: Banana Ron Feel free to ask me anything, I would love to help!!! PS. If you would help me promote my YouTube channel that would be super awesome of you - thanks :-) @ TheBananaRon IG, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube
I need to sell my 2020 mustang gt (manual) or trade it in for an automatic sedan that has decent power. I've already accepted that there are no cars that will give me anywhere near the same performance at the price our cars go for. The most I can spend on the next luxury/performance sedan is around 60~75k, brand new or CPO. I'm considering the Lexus IS-F Sport models like the 350 or 500, used Cadillac CTS-V, and maybe an Audi. Which sedan (yeamodel/brand) would you buy in today's market with said budget considering performance, interior, handling, reliability, etc.. coming from a Mustang GT.
How I ended up with a Lexus RC F Track Edition/Fuji
I wanted an badass looking 4 seater coupe with great reliability, interior quality, v8. Lexus came to mind with their 2UR-GSE which surprisingly has gotten to the 300k mile range in several IS F. Test drove a dynamic handling package LC 500 and it was amazing but was left wanting a little bit more performance/practicality. The dealer happened to also have a RC F TE that I test drove and really enjoyed although not for $100k unless it had a supercharger. Luckily shortly after I worked out a great deal for a 7k miles CPO Matte Nebula Grey TE for under $73k(8-12k lower than normal used prices) thanks to a friend of a friend! Over 60 pounds out of the 180 pounds weight reduction is unsprung weight from the carbon ceramic rotors/lighter wheels and which has a huge impact in cornering and handling. It’s also quite easy to get it to slide while stepping on it during a turn from a stop and very controllable making it super fun! I think Lexus mentioned doing other suspension/chassis tuning but it's a very noticeable improvement. The CCB's, shorter gearing and weight loss give the acceleration a nice boost as well! The titanium exhaust has a nice mix of low key exotic and aggressive tone. Sounds very close to an LC on the interior only but with a cool induction whine(almost like an SC). The auto is no ZF8 but it's fine and shifts faster on manual mode than just S+ auto, it's surprisingly fun while using the shifter. As a bonus, it gets 28 highway mpg but I floor it in town all the time so closer to 13mpg lol Some will disagree but to me exterior design/matte combo is almost up there with the LC. It does have a lesser interior but the red alcantara seats still look great. Infotainment is just ok since it has auto/carplay but I improved that massively with an Android system that integrates into the factory HU allowing custom wallpapers and any app you want! Also an average sized adult can actually fit in the back thanks to the extra headroom that a Mustang/Camaro/LC lack(C63/M4 still have more). All in all it has been very practical and the trunk is average but backseats can be modified to fold down if I ever wanna put a bike or a long item. Overall it’s not perfect but I love the looks/performance/practicality compromise and drive it to the mountains, the beach and everywhere as much as I can hence wanting a tad more practicality than just a weekend car. Don't find it any less fun to drive compared to my brothers 2020 AMG GT Base and F-type P450 both being amazing beasts that I would also love to do a write up on but then again that's driving at 6 or 7/10(if at all) on the street. Here is a couple of pics plus a crappy shaky video I had my friend record mostly for the engine note. https://postimg.cc/gallery/6nydWsZ Exterior Edit: https://postimg.cc/gallery/YgHynkd interior shots I took tonight, I didn't get a chance earlier https://postimg.cc/LnWvRstH thinking about color matching the hood after trying it on Forza 5 https://reddit.com/link/yd6k9n/video/dvb5h8om1zv91/player https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6NbqG64B50 in case the vid has issues/crappy quality In case you made it this far, other amazing cars I was interested in previously, drove and highly recommend is the new Supra, M2 competition and C63 S. Still have to try out an M4, 911 and C8 one of these days plus the upcoming Emira. Already convinced my brothers to get an AMG GT and F-Type(It was either that or GT500) so working on convincing my friend to get an M4 X-Drive or more preferably a 911!

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Had Her Mustang "Stolen" to Save Money on Restoration Costs For Him. After the Show, He Stuck Her With Repair Costs
The story of Amber Heard's Mustang looks like a funny story about a husband pranking his wife. But it's really a sad tale of loss and betrayal. In 2014, Johnny Depp arranged to have them appear on the reality show Overhaulin'. It was basically a copy of the show Pimp My Ride but with 100% fewer rappers. Everyone loved the story of Amber Heard’s car being stolen four times but there's a lot more under the hood. Many treat the story like a big heartwarming joke but something more sinister was happening behind the scenes. Kind of like when I went to see The Dark Knight and a 5-year-old started screaming over Joker's scarred face. Like the Overhaulin' episode, it looks like a feel-good kid's movie on the outside but it's very dark. In the Overhaulin' episode "In Too Depp" (2015) Depp approaches the show to restore Amber Heard's favorite car. A 1968 vintage Mustang. Chris Jacobs and his team secretly take her car while she's out and wait for her to discover it's gone. When she thinks her beloved Mustang had been stolen for the third time she's furious. Depp and Amber Heard's father, David, pretend to call the police. Jacobs and his team pretend to be police officers and make a show of looking starstruck by her. Even taking selfies with their cellphones. She explodes with anger yelling "Get my car back!" It's pretty heart-breaking or it appears to be. (wink wink) Why did she seem to get so upset? First, we have to look into what the car meant to her.
Amber Heard's Love of Her Mustang
“Maybe it's the Texan in me, but I've always been into muscle cars,” she told the Daily Sunday Mail. “My '68 Mustang is my favorite. I love cars that have character, and I've had a number of them, including a '63 Checker and a '67 Mercedes.” She and Guy Fieri have a lot in common. In 2003, at 17 years old, Heard was an up-and-coming actress in Los Angeles. She bought the 'Stang with every penny she had. The Mustang was in bad shape but she loved it. "I bought it as kind of a driveable piece of junk, a beautiful piece of junk," she said. “The car cost me every dime I had and continued to cost me for the first eight years that I lived in LA.” The car was old and, after 30 years, needed a lot of upkeep and maintenance but that didn't bother her. “I just have to do the maintenance and repair the damage," she said. "My dad taught me enough about cars so that I'd never have to ask a man on the side of the road for help: I hotwire my own cars.” But there was a bigger problem. Over the years the car became the target of car thieves. But these weren't the Nicolas Cage Gone in 60 Seconds kind. The silver Mustang was stolen three times over the 12 years she owned it. She told Sunday Mail, “I park it on the street for one minute and someone takes it for a joyride but they always recover it." The last time it was stolen it disappeared for six months. “[Each time it was stolen ] I would upgrade my system of security only to be [foiled again],” the actress told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. “I found it every time – one time it took six months but they got it. They gutted it pretty good the last time; that crushed me pretty good.” The thieves gutted the entire car out for parts and sold the stolen components for profit. When it was recovered it was in shambles and Heard was working to rebuild it. Kind of like when you cross a Mustang and an elephant. What do you get? A convertible with a big trunk. Apparently, her reactions in the episodes are staged and she knew all about the plan. She later said that she and Johnny both decided to put the car on the show. More about that later but when people say she's not a good actress they should watch the episode.
Overhaulin' Amber Heard's Mustang
The "stolen car" trick was a common tactic on the show. After it was towed to the shop the team got to work. California-based automotive designer Chip Foose and the group restored the car from silver to red and upgraded it with an all-white interior. When Amber sees the car she says, "I'm blown away! I'm speechless. I can't believe all of this." While many articles say Johnny Depp spent thousands of dollars to upgrade the car's look that's only partially true. Most of the restoration cost is covered by the show's producers. She addressed this during the UK trial:
Q. The problem is, I suggest for you, is that you know that the reality of that car was that Mr. Depp was doing you a favour. In fact, he had organised for you to have that car restored and it was featured on a show, so we can actually see footage of it, can we not; is that right? A. Actually, it was only agreed to be on that show when I found out that it would save him the money in having to actually pay for the restoration. If I agreed to have it be on the show and appear on the show, they were to take care of the costs. What I did not anticipate is that they would only take care of the superficial costs for the show and the actual mechanical work on the inside still needed to be done and paid for and that was left with Johnny's mechanic, who then gave me the bill. Johnny left me with it so I ended up paying for that car.
So it actually saved Depp money to have it on the show. Whatever he put into it was a fraction of the cost. The episode aired on November 4, 2015, and was a hit. It's another happy ending for Overhaulin'. Johnny Depp got great PR. But what about Amber Heard?
The Aftermath
The car looked great on the outside but on the inside, it was a mess. Not only was there still work to do but the Overhaulin' team messed up some of the work that Heard had already done. Amber always drove herself and never used a chauffeur. The guy was always trying to drive her away. So she hired a mechanic who worked with Johnny Depp and the show, named David Killackey. Amber Heard wanted him to help her with some features and repair the car needed. It took a long time. The repairs continued even after Depp and Heard divorced in 2016. Amber Heard assumed the costs would be covered by the network and by her ex-husband but she was wrong. Like an expensive Chinese dinner with friends, the check never got split fairly. "What's with all the imported beers, Bob?" Killackey said in his statement, "Approximately June 2016 I received direction from Kevin Murphy to separate the billing on work related to the Mustang. I was told to continue billing Johnny for work performed on his vehicles and to invoice Amber directly for work performed on her Mustang. I immediately informed Amber of the instructions I had been given by Mr. Murphy." Amber Heard was furious because they had a legal agreement for Depp to pay her bills. The mechanic demanded a copy of the agreement but it was privileged. After this, he refused to return her car until she paid him in cash. Of course by this time Johnny Depp had already begun to swamp her in legal bills and ruin her career with lies and accusations. his financial abuse was reaching its highest point and now she didn't even have her beloved 1968 Mustang.
Mechanic Used to Make Her Look Crazy
When the trial started they used her normal reaction to having someone screw her over for money to attack her credibility. The judge determined in the Fairfax trial that Depp and his lawyers intentionally leaked David Killackey’s witness statement to a website. In part B of the argument, it says, "These Declarations were leaked to a website, which published them ... Only the Killackey Declaration has been produced in discovery to Ms. Heard, and only after it was leaked." We don't know what ever happened to Amber Heard's beloved 1968 Chevy Mustang. The current location of the 1968 Mustang is unknown. Kind of like Johnny Depp's career. But in November 2021 she posted on her personal Instagram that the car is long gone. She shared a picture of her in the restored Mustang with the caption "Missing my ride or die #tbt". Since the trial, this story has been plagued with misinformation. Most people make it sound like Johnny Depp was a loving husband pranking his wife and paying to restore a crazy demanding wife's car. In reality, it's the story of a couple trying to fix a car and a jealous husband who stuck her with repair costs. Turns out he was a "Pie Rat of the Car-beans".
September 27, 2022 - Department 4 - Monterey County Superior Court
Day 30: Susan Flores is present in the courtroom for the first time since opening statements. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
First witness: Detective Henry Stewart
Defense Attorney Robert Sanger calls Detective Henry Stewart to the stand. Stewart was the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department’s lead detective on the Kristin Smart case from June of 1996 through 1999. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Stewart testified he worked with the FBI in an undercover operation between 2000 and 2001 that was designed to elicit a confession from Paul Flores, who is currently on trial for Smart’s murder along with his father, Ruben Flores, who is charged with helping conceal the crime. No confession came from the sting operation, he said. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: “Did you surveil Paul Flores?” Stewart: “I’m not sure what you mean by ‘surveil’.” Sanger: “Did you follow him to work?” Stewart: “I didn’t follow him. I did go into a place where he worked in Irvine.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “And in 2000-2001, you and Detective Crawford worked with the FBI in an undercover operation to get a confession from Paul Flores?” Stewart: “Yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Paul Flores’ defense attorney, Robert Sanger, read a stipulation, or statement that all parties agreed to be fact, that stated retired FBI agent Victor Guerrero would also testify the undercover operation did not elicit a confession if asked to take the stand. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
According to court documents unsealed as a result of legal action by The Tribune, agents befriended Flores and took him to Las Vegas to get him drunk and took him to Oklahoma “under the pretense of giving him a job.” (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger also asked Stewart about his interview with Tim ****, who was at the off-campus house party Smart attended before she vanished in 1996. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
The investigator said Tim told him he found Smart lying in the front yard of the house next door and helped her to her feet when Cheryl and Tim's friend, Tosh ****, came outside. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Tim reportedly told Cheryl he would walk Smart home, but a group from another house was walking outside, Stewart said, adding that one of the people in that group was Flores. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
That’s when Flores walked up and offered to help get Smart home, Tim told Stewart. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: “On July 1, 1996, did you interview Tim ****?” Stewart: “I’m not positive on the date.” Sanger: “I want to specifically ask you about a certain portion — did he tell you that he, uh… saw Kristin Smart laying in the front yard?” Stewart: “Of the house next door, yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “He said there was a group from another frat outside and Paul Flores was walking around with them?” Stewart: “Correct.” Sanger: “Okay. And I have no further questions.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Deputy DA Christopher Peuvrelle, on cross-exam: “In that same interview with Tim, did he tell you that he saw Paul Flores and Kristin Smart sitting together and talking several times during the party?” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “Objection. That’s not a prior inconsistent statement.” Judge O’Keefe: “Overruled.” Stewart: “Yes.” Peuvrelle: “And did he tell you he saw them talking on another occasion at the bar area?” Stewart: “Yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Defense Attorney Harold Mesick has no questions. Defense Attorney Robert Sanger has no further questions. Detective Stewart was excused at 10:50am, after less than 10 minutes on the stand. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Peuvrelle: “Did he tell you that during the walk back after the party, Kristin was stumbling and unable to stand, and they weren’t able to walk very fast?” Stewart: “Yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Second witness: Detective Clint Cole
Defense Attorney Robert Sanger calls Detective Clint Cole to the stand. Detective Cole has been a sworn peace officer for 28 years, and was assigned to the Kristin Smart case in September of 2017. Photo(Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole said he read the entire case file when he was assigned to the Smart case in 2017, including reports from the Cal Poly Police Department, the FBI and some materials from Jim Murphy, who represented the Smart family in civil litigation against the Flores family. The case file has at least 200,000 pages of documents, Cole said. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: “When you were assigned to the case, you went through entire… bunch of files, right?” Cole: “It was a huge case file, and I went through all of it.” Sanger: “And you attempted to get files from the FBI, and it took a while to get them, right?” Cole: “Yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “In total, there were approximately 150,000 to 200,000 pages in this case?” Cole: “I’m going to say at least that.” Sanger: “Do you have a pretty good idea of what’s in those files?” Cole: “For the most part.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole was asked about the “Justice for Kristin Smart" Facebook page. Cole says he follows the page and testified that he was concerned the page could jeopardize the investigation. Cole told Sanger the page was dedicated to convicting Paul Flores for Kristin’s disappearance. (KSBY)
Cole said the Sheriff’s Office received several tips from people regarding the case — including Justin, who testified earlier in the trial about his former roommate telling him that Paul Flores admitted to the crime. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
The detective testified that he asked Justin to remove a Facebook post and to “tone down” his social media posts to avoid jeopardizing the Smart case. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: “Who is Joe ****?” Cole: “He is a CPA who kind of injected himself into this case.” Sanger: “There were a lot of people offering leads, right?” Cole: “Yes.” Sanger: “Also several psychics offering leads?” Cole: “Yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “Dennis Mahan (sic). Who is that?” Cole: “Dennis is another person who injected himself into the investigation of the Kristin Smart case.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “And then there’s a Chris Lambert. Who is that?” Cole: “Chris Lambert made a podcast about the Kristin Smart case.” Sanger: “And he’s… behind me somewhere. He’s been attending court pretty regularly?” Cole: “Yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “When did his podcast start?” Cole: “I want to say Fall of 2019.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “And Dennis Mahan (sic) passed on a lot of rumors that turned out to not be correct, right?” Peuvrelle: “Objection. Leading.” Judge O’Keefe: “Sustained.” Sanger: “He passed on tips that turned out not to be founded?” Cole: “Yes.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: “Then there was a Sandee **** who was a moderator of a Facebook page?” Peuvrelle: “Objection. Relevance.” Judge O’Keefe: “Sustained.” Sanger: “Your Honor, it comes up in his testimony.” Judge O’Keefe: “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re going to take a brief stretch break.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
(Following a 3-minute "stretch break" sidebar) Judge O'Keefe: "You'll all be certified yoga instructors by the time we get out of here." The jurors laugh. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Sandee **** was the moderator of the Kristin Smart Facebook page?" Cole: "Yes, she was one of several moderators." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "That Facebook page was dedicated to convicting Paul Flores, correct?" Peuvrelle: "Objection. Relevance, speculation, leading, lack of personal knowledge." Judge O'Keefe: "Sustained." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Was the Facebook page 'Justice for Kristin Smart' (sic) dedicated to seeing Paul Flores convicted of murder?" Cole: "It was dedicated to getting justice for Kristin Smart, and there was a lot of talk about Paul Flores." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "You read the Facebook page, correct?" Cole: "I did monitor it." Sanger: "Did you become concerned that it could jeopardize the investigation?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Did you have any problems with Justin ****?" Cole: "There was one problem, which you brought up [during his testimony]. He was saying things on there that I thought he shouldn't be saying." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Did [Justin] attempt to obtain the $75,000 reward for his tip?" Cole: "Not to my knowledge." Sanger: "Did you understand that he was angling to get the reward?" Cole: "I know he made Facebook comments about the reward, but to my knowledge, he made no move to get it." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger publishes an image posted from Justin ****'s Facebook profile – an alarm clock with the words 'Tick Tock Motherfucker'. Sanger: "Was this one of the things that concerned you?" Cole: "Yes, I asked him to take it down and I asked him to tone it down." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Now, in the course of the investigation, were there a number of dog searches that occurred?" Peuvrelle: "Objection. Lack of personal knowledge." Judge O'Keefe: "Sustained." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole told the court that he was aware of a previous search at Paul’s mother’s house on Branch Street in Arroyo Grande where no evidence was collected. Cole also said he could not recall any canine searches at that address. (KSBY)
Sanger: "There were dog searches and alerts at Susan Flores' house, correct?" Peuvrelle: "Objection. Leading, lack of personal knowledge, lack of foundation." Judge O'Keefe: "Sustained." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Well, were you aware of any searches of the mother's residence?" Cole: "I was aware of a GPR search. I do not know of any canine searches." Sanger: "There was no evidence there, correct?" Cole: "I know of no evidence found at that house." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And you got leads from people like Mr. McMahon (sic) and [Justin] about that house, correct?" Cole: "Mr. Mahon, certainly. Justin, I don't recall." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole confirmed that searches for evidence of human remains or burial sites in Huasna and the Arroyo Grande house of Susan Flores — Paul Flores’ mother and Ruben Flores’ ex-wife — came up empty. That included where a cadaver dog alerted in Huasna, Cole confirmed. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: "And then there were dog alerts in Huasna, correct?" Peuvrelle: "Objection. Lack of foundation." Sanger: "Your Honor! Look. I'm just going to do this..." Judge O'Keefe: "Can I have counsel approach for a moment?" (Chris Lambert, YOB)
During some sidebars, the attorneys approach the Judge's bench in the courtroom instead of speaking in the hallway. White noise plays through courtroom speakers to obscure their conversation. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Were you informed that there were dog alerts out at Huasna?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "Did you arrange for an excavation out at Huasna?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "How large were the sites?" Cole: "One was probably 2 feet by 4 feet. The other one was LARGE." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "How large? Can you estimate?" Cole: (points) "Probably about the size of the back half of that jury section." (We learn later from Detective Cole's report that this Huasna excavation was 60 feet by 40 feet) (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Did you review the investigation with regard to the location of certain vehicles associated with the Flores family?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "There was a 1993 Ford Ranger, correct?" Cole: "Correct." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And starting in September of 1996, who was it registered to?" Cole: "Susan Flores." Sanger: "And it was sold to a dealer or traded at some point in 1997?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And then was the truck found and recovered while you were on the case?" Cole: "No. The FBI located that truck in 1999." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Then the 1985 Nissan truck – that originally belonged to Ruben and Susan Flores?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "Then in 1996, who was it transferred to?" Cole: "Paul Flores." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And a year or so later, that truck was stolen in San Diego?" Cole: "It was reported stolen, yes." Sanger: "And that vehicle was located?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "Say in 2013?" Cole: "That sounds right." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "That was located down in Mexico?" Cole: "Correct." Sanger: "There was another truck that was obtained that belonged to Ermelinda Thomas?" Cole: "Yes, I obtained that truck." Sanger: "That was located in Oregon?" Cole: "Correct." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Before court broke for lunch, Cole also testified about a wiretap of the Flores family conducted by the Sheriff’s Office in 2020. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: "You recall that there was a wiretap order that was obtained in January of 2020?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "And preparatory to that wiretap, did you engage in a stimulation exercise?" Cole: "Prior to the wiretap? No, not prior to." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "During the wiretap, do you have officers monitoring the calls?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "So they might listen for a while and then if they decided it wasn't relevant to the case, they would stop recording?" Cole: "Correct." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole said there was no FBI involvement in this part of the investigation. (KSBY)
Cole said it was common for law enforcement to release information to the press or conduct interviews to “stimulate the wire” in order to get those who are subjects of the wiretap to talk. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: "So the purpose of the stimulation was what?" Cole: "During a wiretap, it's common for law enforcement to release information through the press to stimulate the wire." Sanger: "So you try to make them nervous." Cole: "No. Only to get them to talk about the case." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole said he called the ex-husband of Ermelinda Thomas, Paul Flores’ sister, as a stimulation strategy. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: "And part of what you did was try to create some tension between Ermelinda Thomas and her ex-husband, [Brett] MacArthur?" Cole: "I interviewed her ex-husband on the phone, as a stimulation strategy, and then he spoke to her." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "You were also trying to get Ermelinda Thomas to talk to you, correct? In fact, you even had the DA draw up an immunity letter?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "And part of that was stimulation to obtain statements from the people who were tapped?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole also confirmed that the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office offered Ermelinda immunity during the wiretap if she cooperated with the investigation. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Another stimulation strategy, Cole testified, was telling Chris Lambert, whose podcast “Your Own Backyard” explores the investigation into Smart’s disappearance, that the Sheriff’s Office had trucks in custody that once belonged to the Flores family. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: "And you released certain information to Chris Lambert to stimulate conversation as well?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "And information about the trucks included that you had located a white Nissan truck, right?" Peuvrelle: "Objection. Leading." Judge O'Keefe: "Sustained." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "What did you tell Chris Lambert about the trucks?" Cole: "We told Chris Lambert that we had trucks in our custody that had belonged to the Flores family." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole’s strategy was “stimulation, then ... leak truck to media,” Sanger said, reading aloud from the detective’s notes written in October 2019. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: "So on October 24th of 2019, did you have a discussion with the DA about the fact that you had the trucks?" Cole: "I believe I did." Sanger: "And then the next entry in your notes is... "stimulation", and then it says "leak truck to media". Cole: "That was our plan." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
After the lunch break, Deputy Sullivan, the Department 4 bailiff, informs everyone that today is his last day before he leaves for a long vacation. All of the jurors make a disappointed 'aww' sound. One juror asks if she can bring him a cake tomorrow. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Deputies Sullivan and Zaragoza have been in the courtroom every day since the pre-trial hearings began on June 6th. They pass out seat cushions, water bottles, and candy to the jurors, as well as collecting juror questions or notes for the Judge. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Defense Attorney Robert Sanger and his investigator, Ramona Messina, are whispering. Sanger: "We had a failure to communicate. I intended that we'd have an exhibit, but I... didn't communicate well. So, I'll do... something else." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "At some point you became aware of Justin ****. Um, how did you become aware of him?" Cole: "He either reached out to me, or I received that info from Mr. Lambert." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And Mr. Lambert also had info from Mr. Mahan (sic), correct?" Cole: "I believe they'd communicated." Sanger: "And one thing that Mr. Mahan (sic) told to Mr. Lambert was––" Peuvrelle: "Objection! Hearsay." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Well, I should be able to finish the question." Peuvrelle: "Your Honor, there's no possible finish with an acceptable question." Sanger: "Ooh, that's a challenge... I'll withdraw." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "You had an email from Mr. Mahan (sic) that appeared to be a tip that was sent to sonofsusan dot com?" Cole: "Yes." Sanger: "And by the way, 'Son of Susan' refers, unfortunately, to Paul Flores, correct?" Cole: "That's correct." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Cole’s afternoon testimony focused on Jennifer's credibility. Jennifer previously testified Paul Flores told her he killed Smart while the two were at a house popular with skateboarders in 1996. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Cole testified he had trouble corroborating some details in Jennifer's story, including other potential witnesses to the alleged confession and the location and ownership of a skate ramp in Huasna to which Jennifer allegedly followed Flores. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Sanger: "Several times during your interview with [Jennifer], she described a guy being her buddy who owned the place with the ramp in San Luis Obispo?" Cole: "Yes, I believe she said his name was Randy." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Did she eventually tell you that Randy said he knew Paul Flores?" Peuvrelle: "Objection. Leading." Judge O'Keefe: "Sustained. Can I have counsel approach for a moment?" (Chris Lambert, YOB)
After a 4-minute sidebar) Sanger: "So you were not able to ever establish a last name for Randy?" Cole: "Correct." Sanger: "The other thing that she said was that Paul Flores had a skateboard with him?" Cole: "Out at the ramp in San Luis Obispo, yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "You interviewed at least 11 different skateboarding people in the SLO area, and nobody said Paul Flores was a skateboarder, correct?" Cole: "That's correct." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And then you went out to Huasna with Jennifer some time later, correct?" Cole: "Yes, Detective Smith and I went with her, I believe on November 25th." Sanger: "You went through a gate and then at some point, she said 'That's the location'?" Cole: "Correct." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And then at some point, she identified a second location?" Cole: "Once we went a little further onto the property, yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And in her Facebook messages to Justin, she said at one point she 'posted some prospects', right?" Cole: "That's what she told me." Sanger: "And you were aware that her father was involved with mo––" Peuvrelle: "Objection! Your Honor..." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Judge O'Keefe gives a stern look to Sanger. Sanger: "I thought we could do that! I didn't say the name." Judge O'Keefe: "It's time for another stretch break, ladies and gentlemen." The attorneys leave the courtroom for a 4-minute sidebar. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "What are 'prospects', based on your background and experience?" Cole: "Lower level members who are attempting to join an outlaw motorcycle gang." Sanger: "Thank you. She also indicated that Paul Flores had talked about 'his place in Huasna'?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "She then said it was possible the place in Huasna didn't belong to Paul Flores, but a friend of his family?" Cole: "Correct." Sanger: "So you did your diligence in trying to figure out how it was related to Paul Flores?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "And you were not able to find any connection?" Cole: "One of Paul Flores' former bosses lived just up the road, off the same street, at that time." Paul looks up at Sanger's face. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "Were you able to associate that property with Paul Flores ever being out there?" Cole: "No." Sanger: "Alright. And I have no further questions." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Jennifer told Cole in November 2019 that she had heard one of the Flores trucks had been reported stolen — a detail Cole said he only shared to podcaster Chris Lambert in January 2020 when the Sheriff’s Office had a wiretap on the Flores family’s phones. Cole said he does not know where she got that information. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Three separate cadaver dogs alerted to a large area in Huasna, and after excavating an area measuring 40 feet by 60 feet, no human remains were found, Cole said. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
In total, Cole estimates there were nine to 10 excavations searching for Smart’s remains or her burial site. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Physical evidence of human remains were not found at any of the excavations, Cole said, though two animal bones were found at an excavation on the hillside of Cal Poly. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Deputy DA Christopher Peuvrelle, on cross-exam: "In 1996, the place Paul Flores identified as 'his place' on his driver's license was [Ruben Flores' house]?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Peuvrelle: "The wire was in 2020?" Cole: "Yes, in January." Peuvrelle: "So any leaking to the media would have been concurrent to that, correct?" Sanger: "Objection. That's not what he said. He said the stimulation occurred in October." Peuvrelle: "That's not what he said." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Judge O'Keefe: "Overruled." Cole: "Any stimulation activity occurred in January 2020." Peuvrelle: "And the info about the trucks was not released in the podcast until Episode 7, titled 'The Iceberg', released on January 29, 2020, correct?" Cole: "Correct." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Peuvrelle asked Cole how many trucks the Flores family owned in 1996. Cole said the family owned a white Nissan, a Ford Ranger, Ford Explorer and two vehicles that belonged to Paul’s sister. (KSBY)
Peuvrelle also asked Cole if he remembered Jennifer saying Paul told her he had “taken care” of Kristin and admitted to burying her at “my place?” Cole replied, “yes.” (KSBY)
Peuvrelle: "On November 14th, 2019, Jennifer told you that she vividly remembered that Paul Flores referred to Kristin Smart as a "dick tease", correct?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Peuvrelle: "And she told you that Paul Flores referred to a party he had attended with Kristin Smart, and that she was a 'dick tease' and he 'had enough of her shit', so he buried her at 'my place' under or near a skateboard ramp?" Cole: "Yes." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Peuvrelle then asked Cole whether Jennifer told him she was worried about coming forward with information because she was worried the Flores family would “hurt her?” Sanger objected, motioning for a new trial. (KSBY)
Peuvrelle: "And she told you that she VIVIDLY remembered him saying 'my place', correct?" Cole: "Correct." Peuvrelle: "And she told you she was afraid that the Flores family might come after her?" Sanger: "Objection! This goes so far outside the scope! I have a motion!" (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Judge O'Keefe excuses the jurors for an afternoon recess. Sanger: "I have a motion for a mistrial. Mr. Peuvrelle not only went beyond the scope of the prior inconsistent statements, he used the opportunity to bring up statements that were already testified to." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger said there is no evidence the Flores family tried to intimidate Jennifer and says Jennifer had no grounds to make that claim. Sanger also says Peuvrelle’s questioning prejudiced the jury. (KSBY)
Sanger: "That was just piled on for emotional purposes. The last question about fear of the Flores family is EXTREMELY prejudicial. It makes my client and his father look bad. This was just a very blatant attempt to prejudice the jury against my client." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger: "That's prosecutorial misconduct, and I have a motion for a mistrial. It's above and beyond." Peuvrelle: "The question was in direct response to an hour and a half of leading questions of the lead detective, casting aspersion after aspersion on the investigation." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
After Peuvrelle said Sanger has brought forth many frivolous misconduct claims, the judge overruled Sanger’s motion for a new trial, saying questioning from counsel should not be interpreted as evidence while also saying the defense attorney has also gotten away with numerous leading questions. (KSBY)
"Counsel has made several frivolous motions for mistrial now, and I would ask the court to deny." Judge O'Keefe: "Okay, and I'm going to respectfully deny the motion. Today has been a very long day, and Mr. Sanger, you asked many many MANY leading questions." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
"I will instruct the jury that the questions of the attorneys are not evidence, and when we return, we will move on. I'd like court staff to be able to take a 15-minute break." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
After the break, Susan Flores tells the bailiff that the jurors didn't scoot down to make room for her to sit on the bench in the hallway. Deputy Sullivan: "Yeah, there's a lot of them, so there's not always going to be room for everyone to sit." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Questioning of Cole continued. Peuvrelle asked Cole whether a Volkswagen vehicle was attributed to the Flores family in 1996? Cole replied yes. Mesick asked Cole how many total excavations there had been. Cole said about eight, including the excavations done at Ruben’s home. (KSBY)
Defense Attorney Harold Mesick: "Can you estimate for us how many excavations have been done in this case?" Cole: (counting) "Approximately 5 or 6." Mesick: "Well, there were several just at Ruben Flores' house." Cole: "I wasn't counting those. With those, probably around 8." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Mesick asked the detective whether any human remains had been found during any of the excavations. Cole said no but added that animal bones had been recovered during the excavation at Cal Poly. (KSBY)
Mesick: "The large excavation in Huasna was the result of cadaver dogs having alerted, correct?" Cole: "Yes, there were 3 alerts." Mesick: "On all of these excavations, there have been no human remains recovered?" Cole: "No." (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Sanger asked whether pig bones were found in Huasna. Cole said that some small, inch-long animal bones were found; however, he could not specify the type of animal they came from. (KSBY)
Sanger then asked Cole whether he was aware the press was notified before searches were conducted at the Flores home. (KSBY)
Cole said his agency never notified the news media, to his knowledge, before searches at a Flores residence were carried out or before the Flores men were arrested in April 2021. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Defense rests its case
BREAKING: Defense in Kristin Smart murder trial just rested its case. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Defense Attorney Robert Sanger rested his case at 3:39pm. “Your Honor, in light of circumstances that were beyond our control, we would rest.” Defense Attorney Harold Mesick: “We as well rest, Your Honor.” (Chris Lambert, YOB)
I’ll elaborate later, but we learned that the “circumstances” Sanger was referring to were that his expert witness, Dr. Jim Ha, was unable to book a flight to testify because of Hurricane Ian. (Chris Lambert, YOB)
Judge Jennifer O'Keefe asked juries to return Thursday at 10:30 a.m. (Mustang News)
The defense’s final witness, James Ha, could not make it to court because his flights from Florida kept getting canceled due to Hurricane Ian, Sanger said in out-of-jury proceedings. Ha’s testimony was meant to challenge the accuracy of cadaver dogs, according to unsealed court documents. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Jurors were asked to return to court Thursday at 10:30 a.m., and off-the-record conversations between the parties mentioned closing arguments potentially taking place Friday or Monday.
Closing arguments have not been scheduled yet. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
Before court adjourned, Monterey County Superior Court Judge Jennifer O’Keefe emphasized to jurors how important it was that they continue to avoid any media dealing with the Smart case and avoid talking about the case with anyone. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)
“As you can tell, we are very neat the end of this case. It is extremely important you continue to adhere to admonishments,” the judge said. (Chloe Jones, SLO Tribune)

S/M Car - Audi RS e-tron GT (5 Purple and Gold Star Cars, Tier 5)
PC Car - McLaren 720S Spider (5 Purple and Gold Star Cars, Tier 5)
Electrikhana Flash Event - Audi S1 "Hoonitron" (5 Purple Star Car, Tier 5) (new)
Season 167 (November 10, 2022 - November 24, 2022):
S/M Car - BMW M2 (G87) Coupe (4 Purple and Gold Star Cars, Tier 3) (new)
PC Car - KIA Stinger GT (4 Gold Star Car, Tier 3)
Trinity Cup - Ferrari LaFerrari (All Versions) (5 Purple and Gold Star Cars, Tier 5), McLaren P1 (5 Gold Star Car, Tier 5) and Porsche 918 Spyder (All Versions) (5 Purple and Gold Star Cars, Tier 5)
The Izzy's Tuner Challenge 2 with the Ford Mustang GT Fastback 2018 will be at least 60 races long. The car itself is still NOT added in the game.
The Electrickhana event will be on the map once you get the OTA update and it will start on Monday! *I have a bad feeling that this is the Halloween event..*
Fun fact the Audi S1 "Hoonitron" have 30k RPM and it is supposed to reach 850 mph.
Season 166 is from update 4.2, I've decided to add it so everything can be in one place.
The gold starred cars for the Duality/Trinity Cups will be pullable from Rare Imports via gold keys. You will need 70 in total for loyalty, for each car. In the case of the Trinity Cup, the regular Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder will be THE VERSIONS with an increased chance! THE MCLAREN P1 WILL ALSO HAVE AN INCREASED CHANCE!!
There might be some mistakes, especially on the car and event names, that's because the same ones are different in the game files.
Special thanks to u/Nitro4CSR - (YouTube channel - click/press) (Invite Link to his Discord server - click/press) for providing me with the files! If I find anything else, I will update the post. Make sure to check it frequently. KEEP IN MIND THAT NATURALMOTION AND/OR ZYNGA CAN CHANGE THIS AT ANY GIVEN TIME!! I've created a Ko-fi, because I don't want to limit the information that I provide with a pay wall. I'm thankful for all your support thru the years. I'll be more than happy if you can support me even further. Here's the link - click/press (Now you can use also Apple Pay and Google Pay). Thank you for your time and support! Happy racing and stay safe!

Start and End are always at 00:00 UTC! This update will be available for download Monday, 24th of October 2022 16:00 PDT. Note: We apologize for any errors and ambiguities. EA is not in a position to issue decent patch notes. The names of the cars are so often wrong, sometimes you just have to guess. At first, the spelling mistakes were simply taken from their website and corrected later. Even after the update came out, the news page at EA hasn't been updated and doesn't give a link to the current patch notes, which likewise still haven't been updated. They still show the wrong image, for example. Finally do not believe in the dates, in the game they are different after the update.
Launch Control is still silly. I updated my sorted list of 5-60mph times to better reflect cars' real life acceleration performance.
It's been more than a year since I did this post. Since then many new cars have come out and I thought it's appropriate for me to update the test a little. For context, many popular magazines that do 0-60 tests on new vehicles measure them with the use of launch control. This mostly eliminates the effect of turbo lag, throttle delay and power delivery curve difference for many high performance cars that would all make significant differences in real life situations. Further more many American magazines subtract rollout time from their 0-60 result, which further downplays the difference in traction between different setups. Which is why Car and Driver's 5-60 time is in my opinion the most accurate gauge of real life "stomp-and-go" acceleration scenario. So here is the updated list, with one additional column at the end (+x.xs) for some cars showing the discrepancy between the 0-60 and the 5-60 time. The larger this gap is the less representative is the car's 0-60 number of its real life capability. I've also removed cars from the previous list if there are newer models available. Bolded entries are new ones added this time. 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid: 2.3s, +0.2s IMO the 1.0 second flat 50-70mph is even more impressive. 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder: 2.4s +0.2s 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S: 2.9s +0.5s 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S CrossTurismo: 3.0s +0.6s Quickest station wagon in the world? Sigh...the new Integra can't catch a break. It will literally get curb stomped by a Nissan Leaf at a drag race. Edit: I'm using C&D's numbers only because it's one way to keep the comparison consistent. I'm not saying they are more or less accurate than other publisher's tests, but there should be minimal variance in test methodology between each car on this list. Further more, this isn't a "which car is better" list. There is so much more to a car than acceleration, and there is so much more to acceleration than 5-60 stomp and go. 5-60 just paints a slice of the whole picture, but I think it's a more relevant slice than most people realize.
