Tafsir al-Tabrasi, under the commentary of verse 33:59 (link):

فقال { يا أيها النبي قل لأزواجك وبناتك ونساء المؤمنين يدنين عليهن من جلابيبهن } أي قل لهؤلاء فليسترن موضع الجيب بالجلباب وهو الملاءة التي تشتمل بها المرأة عن الحسن. وقيل: الجلباب مقنعة المرأة يغطين جباههنَّ ورؤوسهنَّ إذا خرجن لحاجة بخلاف الإِماء اللاتي يخرجن مكشفات الرؤوس والجباه عن ابن عباس ومجاهد. وقيل: أراد بالجلابيب الثياب والقميص والخمار وما تستتر به المرأة عن الجبائي وأبي مسلم. { ذلك أدنى أن يعرفن فلا يؤذين } أي ذلك أقرب إلى أن يعرفن بزيّهن أنهنَّ حرائر ولسن بإماء فلا يؤذيهن أهل الريبة فإنهم كانوا يمازحون الإِماء وربما كان يتجاوز المنافقون إلى ممازحة الحرائر فإذا قيل لهم في ذلك قالوا حسبناهنَّ إماء فقطع الله عذرهم.
And regarding the verse, {O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they should draw down their outer garments over them (Verse 33:59)}, it was said: The women’s veils cover their foreheads and heads when they go out for a need, unlike the female slaves who come out uncovering their heads and foreheads, … and regarding the verse {So that they should be recognised as free women and not be offended (Verse 33:59)}, that is, they are known by their dress that they are free women and not female slaves, so that the people with ill intentions do not hurt them, like they were teasing the female slaves. And sometimes the hypocrites were teasing the free women. And when they (i.e. the hypocrites) were asked about it, they made an excuse that they thought them to be slave women. سألت أبا عبد الله (ع) عن المملوكة تقنع رأسها إذا صلت؟ قال لا قد كان أبى إذا رأى الخادمة تصلى في مقنعة ضربها لتعرف الحرة من المملوكة
“I asked Aba `Abd Allah [al-Sadiq] (as) concerning the possession’s (i.e. the slave women) covering of her head when she prayed? He replied: ‘No! For when my father (i.e. Imam al-Baqir) saw the female servant *praying* with a Muqna (outer garment sheet) on, he *hit* her; so that the free (Muslim woman) can be known from the possession (i.e. slave woman).”

And it is in Man La Yahduruh al-Faqih – the author al-Saduq – [1:373] and Wasail-us-Shia (link) that Imam al-Baqir said:

ليس على الأمة قناع في الصلاة
“There is no cover for the slave girl during prayer.”

This report is declared “Sahih” by the Grand Ayatullah al-Sayyid Muhammad Sadiq al-Ruhani in Fiqh al-Sadiq [4:228].
In fact, it is narrated in Qadi Nu`man al-Maghribi’s Da`a’im al-Islam [1:177] and al-Nuri’s Mustadrak al-Wasa’il [3:217] that Ja`far al-Sadiq was asked about the permissibility for a slave girl to cover her through Muqna (outer garment sheet) during prayers and he replied (link):

لا كان أبى رضوان الله عليه إذا رأى أمة تصلى وعليها مقنعة ضربها وقال يا لكع لا تتشبهي بالحرائر
“No, when my father, `alayh as-salam, saw a slave girl praying and she had a Muqna, he hit her! And he said: ‘You rascal! Do not resemble the free women!’”

Bahar-ul-Anwar (Arabic Online link):

ابن طريف، عن ابن علوان، عن الصادق، عن أبيه عليهما السلام أن عليا عليه الصلاة والسلام كان إذا أراد أن يبتاع الجارية يكشف عن ساقيها فينظر إليها
Translation: Imam Sadiq (as) said when Imam Ali (as) wanted to buy a slave girl, then he used to undress her thighs and check them.

According to Shia Madhab too the "Awra"(nakedness) of slave girl is only from naval till knees. Bahar-ul-Anwar (Link):

ابن طريف ، عن ابن علوان ، عن الصادق ، عن أبيه عليهما‌السلامأنه قال : إذ ازوج الرجل أمته فلا ينظرن إلى عورتها ، والعورة ما بين السرة إلى الركبة
Translation: Imam Sadiq (as) said: If the owner wants to marry his slave woman to another person, then the owner should not see her "Awra" (nakedness) which is between naval till knees (i.e. her breasts are naked).

ابن طريف، عن ابن علوان، عن الصادق، عن أبيه عليهما السلام أن عليا عليه الصلاة والسلام كان إذا أراد أن يبتاع الجارية يكشف عن ساقيها فينظر إليها
Imam al-Sadiq said: When Imam Ali wanted to buy a slave girl, then he used to uncover her thighs and inspect them.

And Dhimmi woman also has no "Sacntity" (حرمۃ) like the slave woman.Wasail-us-Shia (link):

ـ محمد بن يعقوب ، عن علي بن إبراهيم ، عن أبيه ، عن النوفلي ، عن السكوني ، عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) قال : قال رسول الله ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) : لا حرمة لنساء أهل الذمة أن ينظر إلى شعورهن وأيديهن
Translation: The holy Prophet said: "There is no Sanctity (حرمۃ) of Dhimmi women (i.e. Non-Muslim woman living in Muslim Country). The hairs and hands of such woman could be seen.

Shia Fiqh: An owner is allowed to separate the slave-wife of his slave, and have sex with her

Just like Sunni Fiqh, in Shia Fiqh too, an owner is allowed to separate the slave-wife of his slave, and start doing sex with her after she is free from her first menstruation blood.

Tafsir al-Mizan of Allamah Tabatabai (tafsir of verse 4:24, and those around it -- can be accessed here):It has been narrated in traditions that the owner of a married slave woman may take away that woman from her husband, keep her untouched for the prescribed term, then have sexual relation with her, and thereafter return her to her husband. ۔۔۔ Ibn Muskan has narrated through Abu Basir, from one of the two Imams (a.s.), about the word of Allah: And all married women except those whom your right hands possess, that he said: "They are the women having husbands except those whom your right hands possess. If you have given your slave girl in marriage to your slave boy, you may remove her from him if you so wish." "I said: 'Do you see, if he has given her in marriage to other than his own slave boy?' He said: '(Then) he has no right to remove (her from him) until she is sold away; then if he sells her, her affair is transferred to other than him (i.e, to the buyer); then the buyer may separate (her from her husband) if he so desires, and may reconfirm (the marriage) if he so wishes." (at-Tafsir, al-'Ayyashi)

Al-Kafi, vol. 5, page 481 (link):(باب) * (الرجل يزوج عبده أمته ثم يشتهيها) * 1 - علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن المغيرة، عن عبد الله بن سنان، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: سمعته يقول: إذا زوج الرجل عبده أمته ثم اشتهاها، قال له: اعتزلها فإذا طمثت وطئها ثم يردها عليه إذا شاء. 2 - محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن ابن محبوب، عن أبي أيوب، عن محمد بن مسلم قال: سألت أبا جعفر (عليه السلام) عن قول الله عز وجل: (المحصنات من النساء إلا ما ملكت أيمانكم) (1) قال: هو أن يأمر الرجل عبده وتحته أمته فيقول له: اعتزل امرأتك ولا تقربها ثم يحبسها عنه حتى تحيض ثم يمسها (2) فإذا حاضت بعد مسه إياها ردها عليه بغير نكاح. 3 - محمد بن يحيى، عن محمد بن أحمد، عن أحمد بن الحسن، عن عمرو بن سعيد، عن مصدق بن صدقة، عن عمار بن موسى، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: سألته عن الرجل يزوج جاريته من عبده فيريد أن يفرق بينهما فيفر العبد كيف يصنع؟ قال: يقول لها: اعتزلي فقد فرقت بينكما فاعتدى فتعتد خمسة وأربعين يوما ثم يجامعها مولاها إن شاء وإن لم يفر قال له مثل ذلك، قلت: فإن كان المملوك لم يجامعها، قال: يقول لها: اعتزلي فقد فرقت بينكما ثم يجامعها مولاها من ساعته إن شاء ولا عدة عليها.
Chapter on a man who marries his (male) slave to his slave-girl, then desires her (the slave-girl).The three hadith basically say the same thing that Allamah Tabatabai mentioned in his tafsir--that an owner of a slave girl, who is married to his (male) slave, can separate the slave-girl from her husband until she menstruates (or separate her for a period of 40 to 50 days, according to the third hadith), and then can have sexual relations with her. And then she can be returned to her husband (the male slave) without any need to renew their nikah.The gradings of these three Ahadith, according to Allamah Majlisi are: (1) Hasan (i.e. Fair), (2) Sahih (i.e. Authentic and (3) Muwaththaq (i.e. Reliable).

Kitab al-Kafi: Whole chapter about slave women

The most important Hadith book of Shias is Al-Kafi. And it contains whole chapter regarding the slave women, which contains more than a hundred Ahadith, and all of them are about the worse type of humiliation of slave woman.
Shias did translate the whole book of Al-Kafi in English, except from this particular chapter about the humiliation of slave women.
No wonder, they had to show this dishonesty, as these Ahadith about slave women were exposing the Injustice that the so-called Allah did against the poor slave women.
Shias made an excuse (for not translating the chapter about slave women) in the following words (link):

Chapter 112 to 137:Chapters one hundred twelve to one hundred and thirty-seven deal with issues of slaves and slave-girls, which are not of any practical benefit today and its translation may not be of any benefit as well.

Nevertheless, we are presenting a few traditions (with English Translation) from this chapter of Al-Kafi regarding slave girls, so that you can see for yourself why Shias didn't translate it.

Minor slave girl can be used for driving sexual pleasures by multiple men without any waiting period

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 112 H 3:

3 - محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن ابن محبوب، عن ابن بكير عن هشام بن الحرث، عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال: قلت لأبي عبد الله أو لأبي جعفر (ع): الجارية يشتريها الرجل وهي لم تدرك أو قد يئست من المحيض؟ قال: فقال: لا بأس بأن لا يستبرئها.
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Ibn Bukeyr, from Hisham Bin Al Haris, from Abdullah Bin Amro who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws or to Abu Ja’farasws, ‘The slave girl whom the man buys, and she has yet to be an adult, or has despaired from the menstruation’. So, the Imam said: ‘There is no problem if he does not clear her womb (i.e. observe any waiting period before penetrating in her vagina)’.

It practically means, multiple men can drive sexual pleasures from a minor girl (from the age of breastfeeding till the age of 12 when she gets her first menstruation) one by one even in one day, while there is no "waiting period" for her, even if her vagina is penetrated by these multiple men.
According to Shia Fiqh, marrying a minor girl (even if she is breastfed) with the permission of her father, and then driving sexual pleasures is totally "Halal Allah" (i.e. permissible). This minor girl can be made naked and then her husband can kiss her body, and he is also allowed to do "thighing" (i.e. rubbing their penis in the thighs of that minor girl and ejaculate), or if she is 4 or 5 years old, then he can compel her to masturbate his penis. And if she is 6 or 7 years old, then she can even be penetrated into her vagina if the husband thinks that she is strong enough to bear the penetration.

The differences are:

• If a minor girl is a "Free person", then his father gives her in Nikah of any man. He does not need any "consent" either from his minor daughter, or of her mother, or of any Islamic court, or society.
• But in the case of a minor "Slave girl", even the consent of the father is also not needed. A rich Muslim can directly buy a minor slave girl from the slave market, and he can drive all kinds of sexual pleasures from her and no one can stop him even if he is a psychopath, and even if he beats and tortures the minor slave girl while raping her.
• And another difference is if the minor girl is a "free person", then only her husband can drive sexual pleasures from her. Nevertheless, if the minor girl is a slave, then the master, along with his brothers or friends (i.e. multiple men) can drive sexual pleasures from her (including penetration in her vagina) in a single day.

Not only a minor girl, but it is also true about a slave woman who does not get any menstruation due to her age (i.e. when she is 45 years old, when menstruation stops naturally). Such a slave woman can also be raped by multiple men in a single day one by one, and it is totally Halal Allah (i.e. permissible).

The waiting period for a slave girl is only becoming pure from her menstruation (i.e. 3 to 5 days)

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 112 H 6:

۔۔۔ وسألته عن رجل اشترى جارية وهي حائض، قال: إذا طهرت فليمسها إن شاء.
He (the narrator) said, ‘And I asked the Imam about a man who bought a slave girl and she was menstruating. He said: ‘When she is pure, then let him touch her if he so desires to’.

Taking all kinds of pleasures except for penetration in her vagina is allowed even before the end of the waiting period

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 112 H 9:

محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم، عن موسى بن بكر، عن زرارة، عن حمران قال: سألت أبا جعفر (ع) عن رجل اشترى أمة هل يصيب منها دون الغشيان ولم يستبرئها؟ قال: نعم
‘I asked Abu Ja’far about a man who bought a slave girl. Can he attain from her besides the overwhelming (copulation), and he has not cleared her womb?’ He said: ‘Yes, when it Obligates her, and she comes to be from his wealth. So, if she were to die, it would be from his wealth’.

Taking pleasure is allowed (except for vagina) even if the slave woman is pregnant from another person

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 114 H 5:

محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن ابن فضال، عن ابن بكير، عن زرارة بن أعين قال: سألت أبا جعفر (ع) عن الجارية الحبلى يشتريها الرجل فيصيب منها دون الفرج قال: لا بأس، قلت: فيصيب منها في ذلك؟ قال: تريد تغرة.
‘I asked Abu Ja’far about the pregnant slave girl whom the man buys, so he attains from her besides the private part. He said: ‘There is no problem’. I said, ‘Supposing he attains from her in that (i.e. vagina) too?’ He said: ‘Do you intend deception?’

If a slave woman marries a person without permission of her master, then it is adultery, while if a male slave marries a woman without permission, then it is not an adultery

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 118 H 1:

عدة من أصحابنا، عن سهل بن زياد، عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر البزنطي، عن داود بن الحصين، عن أبي العباس قال: سألت أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) عن الأمة تتزوج بغير إذن أهلها، قال: يحرم ذلك عليها وهو الزنا
‘I asked Abu Abdullah about the slave girl who gets married without the permission of her owner. He said: ‘It is Prohibited unto her and it would be the adultery’.

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 117 H 5:

محمد بن إسماعيل، عن الفضل بن شاذان، وعلي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن ابن أبي عمير، عن عبد الرحمن بن الحجاج، عن منصور بن حازم، عن أبي عبد الله (ع) في مملوك تزوج بغير إذن مولاه أعاص لله؟ قال: عاص لمولاه، قلت: حرام هو؟ قال: ما أزعم أنه حرام وقل له أن لا يفعل إلا بإذن مولاه
(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah regarding an owned slave who married without permission from his master, has he disobeyed Allah?’ He said: ‘He disobeyed his master’. I said, ‘Prohibited, is it?’ He said: ‘I do not claim that it is Prohibited, and say to him that he should not do it except with the permission of his master’.

New master can rape the slave women after purchase, even if she previously had a husband

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 121 H 1:

محمد بن إسماعيل، عن الفضل بن شاذان، وأبو علي الأشعري، عن محمد بن عبد الجبار جميعا، عن صفوان بن يحيى، عن ابن مسكان، عن الحسن بن زياد قال: سألت أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) عن رجل اشترى جارية يطؤها فبلغه أن لها زوجا؟ قال: يطؤها فإن بيعها طلاقها وذلك أنهما لا يقدران على شئ من أمرهما إذا بيعا
I asked Abu Abdullah about a man who bought a slave girl. He slept with her, and (news) reached him that for her is a husband. He said: ‘He can sleep with her, for her sale is her divorce.

Raping a pregnant slave woman with penetration in her vagina, after buying her

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 126 H 1:

محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم، عن سيف بن عميرة، عن إسحاق بن عمار قال: سألت أبا الحسن (عليه السلام) عن رجل اشترى جاريه حاملا وقد استبان حملها فوطئها قال بئس ما صنع، قلت فما تقول فيه؟ قال: أعزل عنها أم لا؟ قلت: أجبني في الوجهين، قال: إن كان عزل عنها فليتق الله ولا يعود وإن كان لم يعزل عنها فلا يبيع ذلك الولد ولا يورثه ولكن يعتقه ويجعل له شيئا من ماله يعيش به فإنه قد غذاه بنطفته.
‘I asked Abu Al-Hassan about a man who bought a pregnant slave girl and her pregnancy had manifested, so he slept with her. He said: ‘Evil is what he has done’. I said, ‘So what are you saying regarding it?’ He said: ‘Is he isolated from her or not?’ I said, ‘Answer me regarding the two aspects’. He said: ‘If he had isolated, so let him fear Allah and he should not repeat (i.e. there is no physical punishment for him), and if he had not isolated from her, so he should not sell that child, and the child would not inherit him, but he should emancipate the child and make something from his wealth to be for the child so that the child can live by, for he had nourished the child with his seed (i.e. semen)’.

Al Kafi – V 5 – The Book of Marriage Ch 126 H 2:

علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن النوفلي، عن السكوني، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) أن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) دخل على رجل من الأنصار وإذا وليدة عظيمة البطن تختلف فسأل عنها، فقال: اشتريتها يا رسول الله وبها هذا الحبل، قال: أقربتها؟ قال: نعم، قال: أعتق ما في بطنها، قال: يا رسول الله وبما استحق العتق؟ قال: لأن نطفتك غذت سمعه وبصره ولحمه ودمه.
(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah that Rasool-Allah went over to a man from the Helpers, and there was a mother with a large belly arguing. So he asked about her, so he said, ‘I bought her, O Rasool-Allah, and with her was this pregnancy’. He said: ‘Did you go near her?’ He said, ‘Yes’. He said: ‘Emancipate whatever is in her belly’. He said, ‘O Rasool-Allah, with what is emancipation deserved?’ He said: ‘Because your seed nourished his hearing, and his vision, and his flesh, and his blood’.

Therefore, even if he rapes the pregnant slave woman with penetration, still there is no punishment for him.
It happened during the Jihadi wars, where the poor prisoner women were hand-cuffed and then distributed among the Jihadi Muslims, where they were alone with them in their camps during the nights. Although it was not allowed to penetrate in their vaginas if they previously had husbands, nevertheless, we can better imagine that it was almost impossible for Jihadi Muslims to not to penetrate in them, while:

• Jihadi Muslims didn't have their wives with them.
• And the prisoner women were handcuffed, and they were alone with them in their tents.
• Upper garments of the poor prisoner women were taken off, and their hairs and breasts were made naked, as they were slaves and they were not allowed to resemble the free Muslim women by hiding their hairs and their breasts.
• And Jihadi Muslims were allowed to drive sexual pleasures from their bodies (and compel them to masturbate them etc.). So what if any Jihadi lost control over himself and also raped her with penetration in her vagina?
• Please note that the testimony of slaves against their owners was not accepted in Islamic Sharia. Thus, even if the poor prisoner women were raped, still they were not allowed to go to Islamic courts. Thus, nobody could punish the Jihadi for raping the prisoner women with penetration.

Scientific Mistake of Shia Imam/Prophet:

Both Shia Imams/Prophet and Sunni Prophet (i.e. Muhammad) made a huge scientific mistake as they thought similar, like the people of Jahiliyyah (i.e. the time of ignorance), that the semen of another person can indeed nourish the fetus. And due to this huge scientific mistake, both the Shias and the Sunnis put an extra burden upon the poor divorced/widow pregnant woman and prohibited them from marrying another person until the delivery of the fetus. A woman needs a lot of love and care and financial support during her pregnancy, and the only way for a divorced/widow pregnant woman to get all these things is to marry another man. But Islam again oppressed the poor divorced/widow pregnant women in this case, by imposing unnecessarily the hardships of waiting period upon them and taking away the chance from them to have a love, care and support of another man during their pregnancy.

The Evil of "Separating the child from the slave mother, and selling in the market" in Shia Islam:

Just like Sunni Islam, the Shia Islam also allows the owner to separate the child from the slave mother, and then sells the child in the Bazar of Slavery. Just look at this hadith, where the Shia Imam is asking the owner to not to sell the child. This means, if the owner had not penetrated in the vagina of the pregnant slave mother, then he would have all the right to sell the child in the slave market.
Therefore, it was actually a blessing for the child if the owner raped his/her slave mother with penetration in her vagina. It became a reason for the freedom of the child, and his good luck that he/she would not be separated from his/her mother and sold in the slave market.

The Evil of "Slavery By Birth" in Shia Islam:

Just like Sunni Islam (link), Shia Islam also has the same evil of "slavery by birth". The child of a slave woman, who is not from the owner, he/she will be automatically born as a slave to the owner of the slave woman.
For example, if she was pregnant from the earlier owner (as in the above-mentioned hadith), or if her master marries her to another free Muslim man, or to any of his slave, then the children from such a union will automatically born as slaves to the owner of the slave woman.
A child from a slave woman can only be free, if the owner himself rapes the slave woman, and then his own child is born, then that child will be free.
In the Quran, it was "discouraged" that a free man does Nikah with a slave woman of any other person. And the reason behind is, the children of that free Muslim men will automatically born as slaves of the owner of the slave mother.
Quran 4:25:

And whoever among you has not within his power ampleness of means to marry free believing women, then (he may marry) of those whom your right hands possess from among your believing maidens; and Allah knows best your faith: you are (sprung) the one from the other; so marry them with the permission of their masters ... This (permission of marrying a slave woman) is (only) for him among you who fears falling into evil; and that if you abstain (from marrying a slave woman) is better for you (while your children will be automatically born as slaves), and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

All Shia Muffasirin and Fuqaha (jurists) are unanimous on this. Allamah Tabatabai wrote under the commentary of this verse 4:25 (link):

However, abstinence and patience is better (than marrying the slave women), in any case. If it indicates abstaining from marrying slave girls, it is because of the rights their masters have on them and on their offspring — as described in books of jurisprudence.

Depp's lawsuit with TMG is important for two reasons:

1. Further demonstrates Depp's character, or more accurately lack thereof, and his propensity for frivolous/malicious lawsuits and lying under oath
2. Demonstrates he absolutely, without question, completely lied in his testimony regarding the night of Amber's 30th birthday party.

It ended up being too long to post here, so I'm just going to quote the passages most relevant to the Depp/Amber relationship:
In Depp’s lawsuit against TMG he accused them of mismanaging his funds, keeping his dire financial situation a secret, and in an attempt to hide their wrongdoing taking out the Tryon loan in 2014. This is demonstrably false. Depp was made completely and totally aware of his financial situation as early as 2007, and was repeatedly urged by the Mandels to limit his spending and begin selling assets to recover.
Further, the Mandels went above and beyond in their attempt to help Jake Bloom/Gibson Dunn get Depp to understand exactly what he was signing on to regarding the Tryon loan. Joel Mandel emailed Christi Dembrowski:

I need your help this week to coordinate having J sign that Letter of Intent regarding this new loan. More than that, it is critical to us that J understand what he is signing and, either now or very soon, how this loan will impact him moving forward

Further responding to questions from Dembrowski, Mandel replied:

Happy to do a longer version of this, with whatever illustrations would be helpful. Shorter answer, as you know we are pledging our primary Disney profit participations. These monies will be required to pay back the loan and will be unavailable to us for a number of years (likely next 4-5 years). These monies have been a significant source of our income, and have sustained us during the periods between new work. Without access to these monies, even greater reduction in spending will be necessary.

TMG/the Mandels wrote in their responsive filing:

In a breathtaking example of Depp’s true malice in this litigation, in a recent Wall Street Journal article, Depp is quoted as confirming that he has not spoken to his current and long-time attorney, Jake Bloom, since before filing his original complaint in mid-January 2017. Jake Bloom is further quoted as saying that Depp has failed to return his phone calls. Nevertheless, Depp has filed the FAC that continues to falsely and maliciously blame TMG for the Tryon loan, and now appears to be attempting to use the Tryon loan as a basis to disgorge all of the business management fees that Depp paid TMG over a 17-year period. Perhaps Depp should return his current and long-time attorney’s calls so that he could be reminded of the true facts before continuing to disseminate demonstrably false and frivolous accusations against TMG.

TMG also provided documents to the court which demonstrate that the Mandels often prioritized its earned business management fees behind Depp’s many other debts. Because they went out of their way to accommodate him up to the point in which he fired them with no warning, Depp actually owes TMG hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid fees. For example, in July of 2015 Depp received just shy of $9 million for his work in the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film. TMG was entitled to $436,862.62 of this money, but temporarily waived their share because Depp had other, urgent debts that needed to be paid. Less than one year later Depp fired TMG, and has never returned their $436,863.62. Depp and his team (including Tara Roberts) also charged $55,000 to a card TMG took out to help with Depp’s expenses, and then refused to pay it off, leaving TMG to pay out of pocket to settle the debt with CNB.
Depp’s narrative regarding his TMG lawsuit, he has very publicly stated that June of 2015 was when he first became aware that he was “broke.” Even though that is still a complete and total lie, note that it is a full TEN MONTHS before April 21st 2016. Between his two lawsuits, Depp has shifted when he supposedly learned about his non-existent “missing millions” to best support his false narrative.
In November 2015, he requested a meeting with his talent agency UTA. Tracey Jacobs emailed Joel Mandel:

Johnny said he is seeing you at 1:00 p.m. today. Hope it goes well. I told him to listen, and we are all here to help him

At this meeting, Depp demanded that UTA give him $20 million – not loan, literally just give him the money because he felt he deserved it:

A. He talked to me, Jim Berkus, Jeremy Zimmer, Jake Bloom, I believe Michael Schenkman was in the meeting. It was at his office.
Q. At Johnny’s office?
A. Yes.
Q. And was Joel there; do you recall?
A. I believe so. I’m not 100 percent sure.
Q. And what was the purpose of that meeting?
A. He called the meeting, and I wasn’t sure what the purpose was, but it became apparent very quickly.
Q. And did he – did Mr. Depp specifically ask that the other people from UTA also be invited; do you recall?
A. Either I asked for them to be there, or he did. I asked, because I didn’t exactly know what it was, but I had an idea it was going to be about money.
Q. Okay. And what did Mr. Depp say at this meeting?
A. He walked into the – he walked into the room, and he asked us to give him $20 million.
Q. As a loan?
A. No, to give him $20 million.
Q. And did he say why he wanted UTA to give him $20 million?
A. Because he felt we should, because we had made so much money together over the years.

Obviously, UTA was in no financial position to be giving away $20 million, and had to decline Depp’s “proposal.” This made him furious:

Q. And what was Mr. Depp’s response?
A. He was angry.
Q. Visibly angry?
A. Yes.
Q. And what did he say?
A. I’ve made a lot of money for all of you. I’m having difficulty, and you should help me out.
Q. Okay. And how did the – how did that meeting end, at his office?
A. He was furious.

UTA very generously arranged to guarantee a $5 million loan Depp was going to receive from Bank of America, using his art as collateral.
Completely ungrateful for the help UTA was giving them, both Depp and Dembrowski called to harass Tracey Jacobs over the terms:

A. How I found out was that Johnny and Christi both called me separately to yell at me about the fact – excuse me, I don’t know what’s going on I’ll turn this off.
Both of them separately called to yell at me that we were screwing them over by asking him to use his art as collateral for a loan.
Q. And they personally called you?
A. Yes.
Q. And both Johnny – did they call you separately?
A. Separately.
Q. Okay And what did Johnny say to you?
A. Essentially – I don’t recall his words exactly –
Q. Sure.
A. – but how dare we use his art as collateral to loan him $5 million – which wouldn’t last the month anyway, is what he said to me.

In January and February of 2016, when Depp was well aware of his financial situation and how desperately he needed to be signing for roles to the tune of $25 million, he instead decided to black out all key potential filming dates with concerts for his band The Hollywood Vampires.
Here Tracy Jacobs explains:

Q. And what was your concern about him playing with the band?
A. Because he was just booking dates left and right with no concern – after me being yelled at about the money and how much he needed to earn, that he was booking dates for months with no concern for movies, which is what provided him his real income. He didn’t care.

In the middle of March, Depp was offered an ad campaign that would have paid $15 million, but his complete lack on interest and unwillingness to commit caused the deal to fall through:

Q. This is an e-mail dated March 9, 2016 from you to Gueran Ducoty? A. Gueran Ducoty. Q. And who is that? A. He’s a commercial agent at UTA. Q. And is this regarding a possible commercial or endorsement of some type with Turkish Air? A. Yes, he had an offer. Q. Okay. You write, “We must get red line contract so Christi can get Johnny. And we have to get signed ASAP. We need to get the four million immediately. Please.” Is that what was being offered? A. He was offered $15 million. Q. For a Turkish Air commercial? A. Yes. Q. And how much work was that going to be? A. I think a couple of personal appearances, as I recall, and one commercial, and one print ad. Q. Okay. And did Johnny turn it down? A. Ultimately. Q. When you say ultimately, you mean sometime after this? A. I went to his house because he would refuse to answer me, and he needed the money, and so I went to his house after work one day. I brought the story boards with me and went through it with him. He couldn’t have been less interested, but I felt like I had turned him around. I said, look, it’s $15 million, you need the money. It’s not the ideal situation, but it’s there, now, and I’ll do everything I can to protect you. Q. And did the deal get made? A. No. Q. Why is that? A. It fell apart. He’d never give an answer, and they ended up going with someone else.

This is clear and incontrovertible evidence that Depp was demonstrating a complete and total disregard for his financial situation in and around April 21st 2016.
With this information in mind, here is Amber’s testimony regarding the news that Depp had scheduled a business meeting for the same time her birthday party was going to begin. She says that he informed her that day he had a meeting with some “money guys” and didn’t elaborate. She didn’t know if he was being honest or not because he didn’t come home a lot during this time period, often leaving to have a “business meeting” and then not coming home for days at a time.
That all lines up extremely well with Depp’s demonstrated behavior at this time period.
Especially keeping in mind that Depp knew for years about his finances, knowingly chose to schedule tour dates with The Hollywood Vampires instead of sign on to films to recover his financials, and that he “couldn’t have cared less” when Tracey Jacobs attempted to get him to sign an ad campaign for $15 million, let’s consider the information that Depp scheduled his meeting with Ed White for the same time in which Amber’s party was being held.
I’m not sure if this has occurred to anyone else, but scheduling a business meeting at 7:30pm on a Thursday is sort of unusual. Almost like someone would have had to go out of their way to make that overlap with Amber’s party? Like, maybe someone did not want to go to Amber’s party and wanted to have a valid excuse for not attending?
It is demonstrably clear that Depp did not care at all about his finances or how to fix them, so his testimony that he took this meeting extremely seriously is undeniably incorrect. He was most likely upset he was being forced to go to either the meeting or Amber’s party, decided to overlap the two events on one night as to minimize time spent at either, and was in an extremely sour mood throughout both affairs.
As has already been made clear, Depp also lied about nearly every aspect of what he learned in this business meeting. The only portion of his testimony that is true, is that this was the first time Ed White specifically was telling him the extent of his troubles. As will be expanded on more later, from March 14th to roughly April 20th, TMG worked tirelessly to help Ed White/EWC receive all relevant information about Depp’s financials. Ed White himself actually did very little work to “discover” what state Depp was in, because he relied so heavily on the work TMG had already done and already shared with Depp from 2007-2016.
Depp had heard all of the information covered many times before, he just had not heard it specifically from Ed White. TMG/the Mandels had been telling him all of this for years, as he blatantly ignored and held contempt for their repeated pleadings.
Depp lied when he said that he learned in this meeting that TMG/the Mandels had stolen money from him and that “millions” were missing. Ed White never told Depp any such thing, because the Mandels never did any such thing. As will be covered more below, Depp actually owes the Mandels roughly $6 million he refused to pay back.
This is why Ed White will not testify to saying any such thing. He will only testify that Depp “felt” he had been wronged:

They felt that the representation of his (unclear) management firm was inadequate.

He also won’t commit to saying Depp found out in any way his financial position was worse than he had previously thought:

Q. You are absolutely right. It revealed to him that the state of his financial health was considerably worse than he previously believed it to be? A. I am not certain what the origin of your question is, but he was informed of his financial position during the course of the meeting.

Considering all available information, I find it extremely hard to believe Ed White’s testimony that Depp was engaged throughout the meeting, asked thoughtful questions, and was grateful for his help. Never once in previous history had Depp been “engaged” in his financial troubles, “thoughtful” in regards to fixing them, or even engaged in any way. In the months leading up to this meeting he was actively contributing to the worsening state of his affairs.
Depp’s claim that he believed TMG to be responsible for his woes in April is actually contradicted by his notorious lawyer, Adam Waldman. He says that Ed White told him in October that the Mandels had been “cavalier” with Depp’s account, and that he discovered the extent of the wrongdoing in the ensuing months, leading to Depp’s suit being brought in January of 2017.
Depp has never provided any reason or explanation as to why he refused to pay back the Mandels the money they were owed in unpaid fees or labor during the transition.
Waldman’s statements regarding the timeline of his “discovery” of TMGs misconduct is likely a weak attempt at explaining why Depp waited NINE FULL MONTHS from the time he fired TMG in March 2016 to the time he filed suit in January of 2017.
The timeline of Depp’s lawsuit is very important for a very specific reason. Remember earlier, when TMG agreed to “step into Depp’s shoes” and take on the $5 million loan to CNB, and that this Depp/TMG Note was secured by deeds of trust to 2 of Depp’s properties in Los Angeles?
Depp never actually paid TMG back the $5 million, even though it was expressly written in the Note that it be paid by January 1st 2014. TMG graciously did not demand repayment on the loan, because they were aware of Depp’s other extensive debts, and wanted to prioritize his payments to more demanding creditors that would potentially force Depp to default on payments.
The Note also expressly stated that the entire $5 million was to be repaid at any point in which TMG ceased to be Depp’s management company. In addition to never giving TMG their July 2015 payment from Depp’s Pirates 5 work, never paying the $55,000 Depp spent on a card to CNB, and never paying TMG the $68,722.50 for work during the transition, Depp never paid the Depp/TMG Note after firing them with no notice in March. At the time of termination, Depp still owed $4.2 million on the Note.
TMG repeatedly requested Depp return their $4.2 million, and Depp nor Ed White/EWC ever returned their communication or expressed any intent to repay the loan.
Left with no other options, after giving Depp and EWC months to respond, in October the Mandels filed a foreclosure notice on the two LA properties the loan was secured with. They specifically filed this as a nonjudicial foreclosure so there would be no public filings, showing great respect for Depp even after everything he had done.
Having had his properties foreclosed on, Depp was left with few options:

1. Pay the Mandels back the tremendous amount of money he’d all but stolen from them
   
2. Let the Mandels sell the properties to recover their losses, meaning Depp would not get to keep $4.2 million of the sale profit
   
3. Accuse the Mandels of fiduciary wrongdoing, thereby requesting relief from all debts owed.
   

It is extremely clear that Depp chose option #3, not because anything he claimed was true, but because he did not want to face the consequences of his own actions. Consequences TMG had repeatedly and desperately tried to warn him were coming, and actions TMG repeatedly and desperately begged him to change.
In the words of TMG:

In Depp’s self-centered world, “no good deed goes unpunished.”

When Depp was confronted with the overwhelming evidence that TMG had made him aware of his desperate financial situation as early as 2007, his original claim of:

When Mr. Depp did speak to TMG, they assured him that he was in excellent financial condition

Was recanted:

TMG never made such a false statement to Depp, Dembrowski, or Depp’s lawyer. Notably, this is another malicious allegation that Depp has now recanted in his sworn special interrogatory responses. When asked to identify all facts supporting the allegations, Depp could not and did not identify a single instance where anyone from TMG told him he was in “excellent financial condition,” “good” financial condition, or even “okay” financial condition. Instead, Depp responded to the interrogatory by disingenuously claiming that even though TMG at times “expressed some reservations over [his] purchase[s],” TMG was not “frank” enough “regarding the full status of [his] finances.” Although this revised allegation is also patently false, Depp’s claims appear to have gone from TMG told me I was in “excellent financial condition,” to TMG should have sounded the alarm bells louder.

Sounds a lot like the time Depp started off his Detox testimony claiming:

Ms. Heard often intervened and withheld medicines from me, which caused substantial issues, including spasms and other withdrawal symptoms. This was one of the cruelest things she has ever done and I would not wish that pain that I had gone through upon anyone.

Before having to recant and re-amend his statement to:

I am not saying that Ms. Heard was at all times withholding meds and things of that nature. There were times when of course she was very helpful. She does have a heart and she did understand the pain that I was experiencing… So, she did handle it very well most of the time.

The seven individuals Depp accused TMG of wrongfully giving loans were:
- Christi Dembrowski
- Nathan Holmes
- Bruce Witkin, and the Unison Music, LLC which Depp started with Witkin
- William Rassel, his nephew
- James Russo, friend
- Johnathon Shaw, friend
- Sal Jenco, friend
All of these people have close relationships – approximately half are literally family – with Depp, and have zero connection to TMG outside of Depp. He was not even able to allege that TMG benefitted in any way from these loans, much less attempt to prove such a claim.
The testimony of Bruce Witkin regarding his involvement in this lawsuit is particularly noteworthy. Here he describes his one and only encounter with Adam Waldman:

I was at Johnny's house, things are going good, we're hanging out and talking. And I guess Waldman came in and Johnny introduced me and I just remember Waldman saying, "Hey, nice to meet you," and Johnny had told Waldman that I was part of Unison Music, which was named in the lawsuit, and if they needed any paperwork from me that I had all my paperwork and tax returns. And Waldman turned right to me, he looked me in the eye, and just said, "You got any shit on the Mandels?" And then I said, "No." Yeah, that was the last time I saw him.

From Depp’s 2018 Rolling Stone profile, Depp and Waldman’s description of these interactions:

Waldman and Depp quickly became compadres. When Waldman would find a friend he thought was on the Mandels’ side, he’d call the star and just say, “Tessio,” after the Abe Vigoda character who betrays the Corleones in The Godfather. Depp instantly understood and would mutter back, “Fucking Tessio.”

Remember when Amber described Depp as paranoid and delusional?
Notice how similar Depp’s language is when speaking of either lawsuit. Here is Depp explaining “why” he sued Amber:

And since I knew that there was no truth to it whatsoever, I felt it my responsibility to stand up not only for myself in that instance, but stand up for my children, who at the time were 14 and 16. And so they were in high school and I thought it was diabolical that my children would have to go to school and have their friends or people in the school approach them with the infamous "People" magazine cover with Ms. Heard with a dark bruise on her face.

Here is Depp explaining “why” he sued TMG:

My son had to hear about how his old man lost all his money from kids at school, that’s not right

Really, Johnny? The kids at school are teasing your kids about complex financial filings? And you thought these kids would have less ammunition to tease if you accused your closest friends and family of stealing? You thought that would be less embarrassing for you and yours?
In perhaps the greatest irony of Depp’s life, I find it tremendously important to point out that Depp’s accusations against TMG are demonstrably exactly what he has accused Amber of doing to him.
Depp claims that him telling Amber he was going to file for divorce on May 21st triggered her ensuing hoax, in a scheme to get his Penthouses and more money in the divorce.
That is step by step what Depp did to the Mandels. In October, they made clear their intent to foreclose and sell his LA properties to recover the $4.2 million he still owed them. In a clear and blatant attempt to stop the Mandels from receiving their money, Depp concocted a series of false and defamatory allegations which he filed publicly and with no forewarning to TMG/the Mandels.
Depp’s false and defamatory allegations against TMG also demonstrate how warped his perception of reality is, and how capable he is of twisting even the most black-and-white of situations to his favor. TMG worked tirelessly for at least a decade in their attempt to save Depp from himself. They repeatedly placed his wellbeing ahead of their own – agreeing to take on Depp’s $5 million debt to CNB to prevent his public financial collapse, and temporarily waiving their share of Depp’s Pirates 5 earnings ($436,862.62) so that he could pay off other debtors in the Summer of 2015.
Not only was Depp often ungrateful for TMG’s tremendous help, he often actively scorned them for it. He hated them for making him sell his yacht, for attempting to sell his chateaux in France, he hated UTA for leveraging his art collection to guarantee the $5 million loan they secured for him, and he hated anyone telling him “No.”
At the time of parting, Depp owed the Mandels roughly $5 million in unpaid loans and fees, yet he somehow ended up suing them claiming he should be refunded all of their shares in his roles to the tune of $25 million. He literally found a way to DARVO financial transactions.
Working tirelessly and at great personal cost to save someone from their own vices, only to have these exact efforts thrown in your face and used to berate you, to then end up in a frivolous lawsuit meant to publicly damage and forever mar your public reputation. This is exactly what Depp did to TMG.
This is exactly what Depp did to Amber. What he is still doing to Amber.
It is also extremely telling that Depp was able to throw people like Christi Dembrowski and Nathan Holmes under the bus, accusing them of things they absolutely never did, and they will still stand by him. Johnny very clearly functions in a world in which the people around him are expected to lay down and be walked on if he so needs a step.
It’s further telling that after Bruce Witkin testified honestly that none of the money he or Unison LLC received was wrongfully gotten, and that he had no knowledge of wrongdoing by TMG, he was promptly cut out of Depp’s life. Forty years of friendship ended without so much as a conversation because he gave testimony that Depp didn’t like.
Knowing how badly Depp screwed TMG over – to the tune of over $5 million before the lawsuit even began – and just how hard the Mandels worked over the years in their attempts to save him from himself, the extent of Depp’s delusion becomes clear.
He and Waldman cast themselves as heroes in this lawsuit:

Waldman is Depp’s self-styled avenger. “No one challenges the monster of Hollywood and survives,” Waldman tells me. “Everyone is too afraid. Johnny’s not afraid.”

When, in reality, Depp was a cheat and bully who abused his position for years, verbally berating the Mandels and anyone else who attempted to curb his profligate spending.
Does Depp/Mandel styling themselves as poor little Davids taking on the goliath that is Big Hollywood™ remind you at all of their similar stylings as poor little David men taking on the goliath that is Big Woman™?
In 2018, Stephen Rodrick was shocked at the extent Waldman had Depp believing his own lies:

Depp seems oblivious to any personal complicity in his current predicament. Waldman seems to have convinced Depp that they are freedom fighters taking on the Hollywood machine rather than scavengers squabbling over the scraps of a fortune squandered.

Here is Depp in his own words describing his troubles with TMG:

“I poured myself a vodka in the morning and started writing until the tears filled my eyes and I couldn’t see the page anymore,” he says. He wipes his eyes with the sleeves of his white shirt and continues his monologue. “I kept trying to figure out what I’d done to deserve this. I’d tried being kind to everyone, helping everyone, being truthful to everyone.” He pauses for a moment. “The truth is most important to me. And all this still happened.”

This man is describing a circumstance in which he stole roughly $5 million from TMG, threw some of his closest friends and family under the bus in his attempt to hide wrongdoing, and lived beyond his means and abused anyone who told him not to for the last decade of his life.
Almost reminds me of something someone once said:

Johnny lives in a state of weaponized victimhood. To hear him talk about his childhood or past relationships, he is always the victim. He functions off zero accountability to anyone and thrives off others who provide him with that. No one really gives him direct or honest feedback. It is very rare to see anyone — professionals, doctors, lawyers, film executives — say no to him.
